I was watching the debate with my 11 year old daughter. We were talking about it after, and what she remember most was this.
From the transcript:
Osama bin Laden doesn't get to decide. The American people decide.
I decided the right action was in Iraq.
But that isn't how either of us heard it. What we heard was. "The American people decide. I decided. The right action was in Iraq..."
My daughter couldn't get over the arrogance of that statement. As if the American people all agreed with him, or even more, that he seemed to think he was the American people. His whole body language was that of someone who was truly angry that someone dared to disagree.
